Atheel Education Trains 80 Teachers at RAF Academy Schools in Three-Day Blended Program
Atheel Education, in partnership with RAF Academy Schools, delivered a three-day professional development program on August 12, 17, and 19, 2026, for 80 teachers spanning a wide range of subjects — from Arabic and English language to mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science, Islamic studies, physical education, and early childhood education.
The training was led by Dr. Basheer Mufleh and Dr. Ohood Al-Nakeeb, and followed a blended-learning model, combining three hours of face-to-face instruction with five hours of online learning for each session, giving teachers the chance to engage directly with trainers while also working through material at their own pace.
Who Attended
The 80 participating teachers came from across RAF Academy Schools’ faculty, representing multiple grade levels — from kindergarten through secondary school, including the school’s international (IG) section. Experience levels varied widely, with participants ranging from newly appointed teachers to veterans with more than a decade in the classroom, many of whom already held credentials such as the International Teacher License.
What Teachers Were Looking For
Ahead of the sessions, teachers were surveyed on what they hoped to gain, and clear themes emerged. Effective classroom management was the most frequently cited priority, with many teachers seeking practical strategies for maintaining a positive, engaged learning environment. Close behind was a strong interest in integrating technology — and increasingly, artificial intelligence — into everyday teaching, alongside a desire for updated, interactive teaching strategies and better tools for assessing student progress.
Several teachers specifically mentioned wanting to build skills in motivating and engaging students, while others hoped to strengthen subject-specific pedagogy in areas like Arabic language instruction and STEM teaching methods.
AI Tools for Personalized Learning
A core part of the program focused on the professional use of artificial intelligence tools, with teachers trained on how to use AI to design simple learning apps and resources tailored to helping students address specific learning weaknesses. This was covered both hands-on during the face-to-face sessions and through dedicated content published on Atheel Education’s online learning platform, giving teachers a chance to practice building these tools themselves and revisit the material afterward.
